Over the past six months, a team of MBA students at Imperial College Business School have been working with Rangewell to develop and build the first fully comprehensive, independent and in-depth mapping of the business finance market in the UK.
Collaboration
Our joint collaboration has resulted in a wide-ranging business finance platform covering over 200 business finance lenders across the UK – from boutique banks and specialist finance providers to alternative lenders and high-street banks, every variety of lending institution and every loan product in the UK is represented.
Rangewell and the Business School MBA team with Professor Anandalingam, Dean of the Business School
Last night Rangewell hosted an event recognizing Innovation in Business Finance at the Imperial College Business School. We were joined by a wide range of business lenders to celebrate the hard work the Business School MBA students put in creating the Rangewell platform.
We talk a lot about our market map, but not many people know exactly how much work went into it. The Business School team sat down and talked separately with each of the 260+ business lenders on the Rangewell platform, determining what varieties of lending they offer and distilling that into sectors and sub-sectors, researching the individual requirements and terms of each loan product. Property finance, for example, would be broken down into bridging loans, development loans, and other varieties. From there, the team would look at what sub-sectors the lender would or wouldn’t deal with – student housing, warehouses, developments outside the M25 – and the credit, LTV, and other lending requirements within those sub-sectors.
It’s this level of research and attention to detail that makes Rangewell’s matching algorithm so accurate – so last night at Imperial College Business School we celebrated all we’ve accomplished with the Business School team and how far we’ve come in the past six months.
